Today, I heard the term Majority World as opposed to First World. I think this is a brilliant way of describing different countries, especially since the Second World doesn't really exist today.

So, from now on, I'll use the terms Majority World and Minority World. I encourage you all to do the same. I don't think any reasonable allegations of political correctness gone too far can ever be applied in the context of the Minority World.

I dunno. The terms "First" and "Third World" have lost their political meaning since the fall of the Soviet Union and now refer mainly to economics. Majority and Minority make it sound like it's all about the number of nations in a group, which it isn't. Besides, the Majority are the developing nations, not the industrialized.

Anyway, about your point, I doubt spreading the message of tolerance has anything to do with how much a country regulates free speech unless that country prohibits discussions on tolerance, which neither the US nor the EU do. So yeah. It works fine, in practice. Getting someone to hear what you have to say is a different matter entirely, and is usually dependent upon how much money you have and how good you are at advertising. All governments seem to work fine in theory. If the world were black and white, they'd prolly all work well in practice, too.
